
A tragic road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed the lives of three persons, leaving one other injured.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday afternoon around 1:04 p.m., happened at the Oniworo axis of the busy highway. It involved a blue Lexus Jeep and an unregistered black Boxer motorcycle.
According to the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a total of eight male adults were involved in the crash. While one person sustained injuries, three others lost their lives at the scene.
The FRSC attributed the accident to excessive speed and a tyre burst, both of which are common causes of fatal crashes on Nigerian highways.

FRSC Rescues Two Trapped in Truck Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Rescue officials from the Ogunmakin Unit Command reportedly arrived at the scene within five minutes of receiving the distress call and immediately commenced rescue operations.
The injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere for treatment, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the FOS Morgue in Ipara.
Reacting to the incident, the Ogun State FRSC Sector Commander expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged motorists to obey speed limits and ensure their vehicles, especially tyres, are in good condition to prevent avoidable tragedies.
This latest incident adds to the growing concerns over road safety on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a major transit route known for frequent accidents.
