
A tragic case of domestic violence has shaken residents of Satellite Town in Lagos State, after a 41-year-old man, Uchenna Aghoha, allegedly caused the death of his wife, Esther, during a heated altercation.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, April 24, 2026, following an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation between the couple. Sources revealed that the deceased had reportedly endured repeated abuse in the marriage prior to the fatal incident.
A witness familiar with the situation disclosed that what began as a routine disagreement quickly turned violent. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly struck his wife, after which she collapsed.

The couple’s 14-year-old daughter reportedly raised the alarm after discovering her mother unresponsive. Neighbours rushed to the scene and found the victim motionless before she was taken to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital in Ojo, where she was confirmed dead on arrival.
Police sources confirmed that the young girl later reported the incident, prompting officers to visit the scene and begin an investigation.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
She stated that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for further investigation.
This incident adds to the growing concerns over domestic violence in Nigeria, as stakeholders continue to call for stronger enforcement of laws and increased awareness to protect victims.
