The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Nollywood actor and entrepreneur, Solomon Akiyesi.
The sad news was confirmed on Monday by Abubakar Yakubu, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). According to him, the actor died in his sleep on Sunday in Abuja.
Yakubu disclosed that Akiyesi went to bed but did not wake up, adding that his remains have been deposited in a mortuary in the capital city. He also noted that the guild is still awaiting further details from the family regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Born in Edo State, particularly from the Akoko-Edo/Ososo area, Akiyesi built a notable career in Nollywood, featuring in several films over the years. Some of his works include Heart of a Saint, Desperate Ladies, Pretty Liars, and Bridge of Contract.
His sudden passing has left fans and colleagues in shock, as tributes continue to pour in from across the country, celebrating his contributions to the Nigerian movie industry and mourning the loss of a talented figure.
