Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have dismantled a notorious car theft syndicate, leading to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles across the state.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Blessing Agabe, who revealed that the breakthrough followed intelligence-led operations targeting organised vehicle theft networks.
According to the statement, the operation gained momentum after the arrest of a key suspect, Paul Nwabueze Jude, who had previously evaded capture in connection with a reported vehicle theft case.
His confession reportedly exposed the inner workings of the syndicate and led to the arrest of three other members.
The suspects identified as Paul Nwabueze Jude (46), Dike Michael (46), Uzomba Darlington (47), and Emynaya Eugene were allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of stolen vehicles across different parts of Rivers State.
Police operatives recovered a number of vehicles from the syndicate, including two Toyota Hilux trucks and three Toyota Sienna buses believed to have been stolen.
