
An Uber driver has been arrested in Lagos State following allegations that he diverted and made away with an iPhone 16 entrusted to him for delivery.
The incident reportedly occurred after a passenger ordered the delivery of a device identified as an iPhone 16 from Egbeda to Ikeja through Uber.
The driver was said to have collected the package but later cancelled the trip midway and became unreachable, raising concerns that the item had been stolen.
The matter was first brought to public attention by an X user who raised an alarm online, prompting widespread reactions and calls for investigation.

According to the complaint, efforts to track the driver eventually led to his location, where he was later apprehended.
Following his arrest, the suspect was handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
In a video circulating online, the driver admitted to receiving the package but gave conflicting explanations about what happened to the device.
He initially confirmed collecting an iPhone 16 but later claimed it was stolen.
The alleged victim also stated that the phone, reportedly worth over ₦1 million, was later sold for about ₦400,000 before the arrest was made.
The incident has since sparked reactions across social media, with many users expressing concern over the safety of delivery services and sharing similar experiences involving missing or delayed items in Lagos.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations to determine the full circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.
