Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed that he has stepped away from penalty duties at FC Barcelona due to a dip in confidence linked to his reduced playing time this season.
The Polish forward admitted that inconsistent minutes on the pitch have affected his rhythm, making it harder to stay sharp in high-pressure moments like penalty kicks.
As a result, teammates such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have taken over spot-kick responsibilities under manager Hansi Flick.

Despite boasting an impressive career penalty record, scoring 89 out of 101 attempts, Lewandowski missed two key penalties earlier this season against Sevilla FC and Atlético Madrid.
Speaking on the decision, the 37-year-old emphasized that it is about what benefits the team most. He explained that players who feel more confident and in rhythm during matches are better suited to take penalties.
Although he has faced injury setbacks and limited starts in recent months, Lewandowski remains a key figure for Barcelona, contributing 16 goals and three assists across all competitions this season.
