
The Edo State Police Command, in a joint operation with local vigilantes and hunters, has rescued a woman from her kidnappers and arrested 10 suspects.
According to the police spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, the suspects had abducted a middle-aged woman in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area, and demanded a ransom of N10 million.
Police received credible information about the kidnapping and quickly mobilized a team of officers, together with local vigilantes and hunters, to search Eko Uwaya forest where the woman was being held.

Using intelligence gathered from the community and following the kidnappers’ movements, the team was able to locate and rescue her unharmed.
The rescued woman identified some of her abductors, and all 10 suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit of the Edo State Police Command for profiling and prosecution.
This operation demonstrates the effective collaboration between the Edo State Police and local communities in combating kidnapping and ensuring public safety.
