A 50-year-old woman has been arrested by troops in Kaduna State over alleged possession of 300 rounds of ammunition suspected to be intended for terrorist groups.
The woman was reportedly arrested on Wednesday, September 9, during an operation conducted by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The suspect was allegedly found carrying the ammunition concealed inside a bag.
Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that she had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, Nasarawa State, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorist elements operating around Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition have been taken into military custody as investigations continue to determine the full extent of her alleged involvement and identify those she was reportedly working with.
In a separate operation in Kubau Local Government Area, troops also arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his group during a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, described as a suspected terrorist hideout.

Troops, working alongside a community vigilante group, later arrested another suspected logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
Four communication devices suspected to have been linked to terrorist activities were reportedly recovered from the suspect.
The operations are part of ongoing military efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other supplies across the north-west.
