The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday at about 4pm as the couple travelled from their home in the Budo Seweje area of the state.
According to reports, two suspected attackers suddenly emerged from the bush and attacked the couple.
Danasin reportedly sustained multiple deep machete cuts on different parts of his body during the attack. He was said to have died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
His wife, however, managed to escape from the attackers.
