Tension erupted at an Independence Day festival in Abuja after youths reportedly resisted attempts to turn the celebration into a political campaign event in support of President Bola Tinubu.
The incident occurred at Triple R Monoliza Park, where a video circulating on social media showed youths confronting and chasing individuals described in reports as political thugs.
The confrontation reportedly led to damage to some equipment and chairs at the venue.

The incident comes days after a separate Independence Day event in Warri, Delta State, where youths reportedly rejected branded shirts bearing Tinubu’s image during a 5-kilometre run.
The Abuja incident has since generated reactions online, with the video attracting attention across social media.
