FIFA has unveiled the official Team of the Tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo excluded from the fan-selected Best XI despite scoring three goals during the competition.
The 11-man team, arranged in a 4-3-3 formation, is dominated by newly crowned champions Spain, who have three players in the lineup. Defenders Marc Cucurella and Pedro Porro, alongside midfielder Rodri, were rewarded for their impressive performances as Spain claimed the World Cup title.

Runners-up Argentina also secured two places in the team through captain Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martínez, while France matched Spain’s representation with Kylian Mbappé, Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham, Norway striker Erling Haaland and Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha completed the Team of the Tournament.
Ronaldo failed to make the final selection after Portugal’s campaign ended in the Round of 16
following a 1-0 defeat to Spain.
Mbappé, who won the Golden Boot with 10 goals, was one of the tournament’s standout performers. The France forward started all eight matches, contributed four assists and finished as the competition’s highest scorer.
Messi also impressed by scoring eight goals and providing four assists to help Argentina reach the final.
Spain’s Cucurella played every minute of his country’s victorious campaign, contributing two assists while helping the team record seven clean sheets.
Bellingham earned recognition after inspiring England to a third-place finish, scoring seven goals and adding one assist during the tournament.
