A 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, has reportedly admitted making up to $700 from posting abusive videos involving her eight-year-old daughter on social media.
The woman was arrested by police in Anambra State over allegations of sexually abusing her child. Police said four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued from the family home in Onitsha.
During questioning, Onyeanusia reportedly told investigators that she initially sent a video involving her daughter to a foreign man through WhatsApp and later received payments in dollars.
She said the man sometimes sent her $300 and, on another occasion, $400, making $700 the highest amount she had received.

When questioned about why she subjected her child to the abuse for money, the woman reportedly acknowledged her actions and appealed for forgiveness.
She also claimed that she had seen other Nigerian women engaging in similar activities online, although she said she could not identify all of them.
Police reportedly recovered sex toys and other items from the suspect’s residence as investigations continue.
The woman’s husband had earlier said he was unaware that she was allegedly abusing their children.
Police are continuing their investigation into the case, including the wider distribution of child sexual abuse material.
