Nigerian content creator and social media influencer Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has opened up on why she decided to freeze her eggs, revealing that heartbreak and failed relationships influenced the life-changing decision.
Speaking in a recent interview, the influencer explained that motherhood remains one of her biggest priorities, prompting her to take steps to secure her future as a parent.
According to Ashmusy, she chose to freeze her eggs because she wants to guarantee her chances of becoming a mother regardless of how life unfolds.
“I really wanted to secure my future as a mother. Motherhood is very important to me, and I want to be sure that I will become a mum in the future, no matter what happens,” she said.
The social media star disclosed that her decision came after experiencing several serious relationships she believed would eventually lead to marriage, but unfortunately did not work out.

Ashmusy further noted that her experiences changed her perspective on modern relationships and marriage, adding that many men are not emotionally prepared for long-term commitment despite appearing promising at first.
“I also realised that many men these days are not emotionally available or emotionally mature enough to be husbands, no matter how promising they may initially seem,” she stated.
She added that the uncertainty surrounding finding the right partner made her decide to “play safe” by preserving her fertility early enough.
Ashmusy’s revelation has since sparked conversations online about fertility preservation, modern relationships, and the increasing number of women taking proactive steps toward motherhood.
