Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has taken aim at Arsenal’s post-match celebrations following their UEFA Champions League semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal secured a 2-1 aggregate win to book their place in the final, with Bukayo Saka scoring the decisive goal in the first half of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium. The first leg in Spain had ended in a 1-1 draw.
The final whistle sparked extended celebrations among Arsenal players and fans, as the team marked their progression to Europe’s biggest club competition final.
However, Rooney, a Champions League winner with Manchester United in 2008, expressed reservations about the scale of the celebrations.
