FC Basel winger Philip Otele has arrived in Warsaw to join the Super Eagles camp ahead of Nigeria’s international friendly against Poland.
The 27-year-old winger touched down on June 3, 2026, bringing the number of players available to head coach Éric Chelle to 21. His arrival comes days after featuring in both of Nigeria’s matches at the Unity Cup invitational tournament last week.
Otele played a key role in the competition, providing an assist in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz in the final. Despite his recent form, the winger is expected to start on the bench against Poland due to his late arrival in camp.

The Basel star has earned three caps for Nigeria since making his debut against Jordan in March. His addition gives Chelle more attacking options as the Super Eagles prepare for the test against Poland.
Nigeria will use the friendly to fine-tune preparations ahead of upcoming international fixtures, with Otele likely to feature if called upon in the second half.
