Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued two kidnapped victims during separate operations in Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
The Joint Task Force disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Media Information Officer, Captain Chinonso Oteh, noting that the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist and criminal activities across the state.
According to the statement, troops of Sector 3 operating in Bassa LGA launched a search-and-rescue operation after receiving credible information about the abduction of a man identified as Ndubuisi Onuigbo.
The troops successfully located and rescued Onuigbo during the operation.

In a separate operation in Kanam LGA, troops of Sector 2, deployed at Kukawa village, encountered suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in the early hours of Wednesday.
The soldiers pursued the fleeing suspects, who abandoned a kidnapped victim identified as Mallam Sambo Abdullahi. The victim was subsequently rescued by the troops.
The Joint Task Force said both victims were debriefed and reunited with their families.
Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism and decisive action, urging them to sustain efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across Plateau State.
He also appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant and supportive of ongoing security operations.
The latest rescues come amid continued military efforts to deny criminal and terrorist elements freedom of movement and operation within Plateau State.
