
Seven people have died and the Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area has been injured following a fatal collision along the Malam Madori–Hadejia Road in Jigawa State.
The accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on May 18, 2026, at Kashin Dila Junction, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited police sources. A Toyota Starlet and a black Mercedes-Benz GLK were involved in the crash.
The Toyota Starlet, driven by Adamu Dakido, was carrying passengers from Hadejia to Malam Madori when it rammed into the GLK. The GLK was transporting the Kafin Hausa council chairman and his driver from Gumel to Kafin Hausa at the time.

Police said all six occupants of the Toyota Starlet died instantly from the impact. The driver of the GLK also died at the scene, while the council chairman sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Officers from the Nigeria Police Force arrived quickly, evacuating the injured victim and the bodies to the General Hospital in Hadejia for treatment and identification.
Authorities said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
