
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of a six-man kidnapping gang linked to the abduction of a man in Port Harcourt.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, disclosed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt.
The victim, identified as Hassan, was reportedly abducted on September 6, 2026, around Fidelity Bank in the Garrison area of Port Harcourt.
The kidnappers allegedly took him to Igbugulu Waterside in Borikiri, where he was held for three days.
He was eventually released after his relatives reportedly paid N10.3 million as ransom.
According to the police, information about the abduction was received on September 7, following which operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit were deployed to investigate the case.

The investigation led to the arrest of two suspected members of the gang.
Police said preliminary investigations showed that the suspects allegedly confessed to participating in the operation. They also reportedly revealed that the gang had six members and used a white mini-bus during the abduction.
The police said efforts were ongoing to track down the other members of the syndicate who remain at large.
The command assured residents that it would continue its operations to apprehend the remaining suspects and ensure they face justice.
