Popular Hausa praise singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, known as Rarara, has condemned the use of Nigeria’s security challenges for political advantage, describing it as irresponsible. He said any opposition politician who builds a campaign on insecurity is “insane.”
Rarara made the remarks in a viral video while reacting to Afrobeats star Davido’s appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert. He criticised the display of messages highlighting the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, saying such actions project Nigeria negatively before a global audience.
According to him, security issues should be handled with caution and not turned into political talking points or public spectacles. He argued that drawing attention to ongoing crises on an international stage could damage the country’s image and indirectly benefit criminal groups.
The singer further alleged that Davido’s actions were politically motivated, claiming they were meant to support his uncle’s electoral ambitions and portray the current administration in a bad light. He maintained that no politician or public figure should use insecurity as a campaign strategy.

“Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue,” Rarara said, stressing that national security should remain above partisan politics.
He urged public figures and content creators to exercise restraint when discussing sensitive security matters, noting that the public may not be aware of the complexities surrounding ongoing operations by security agencies.
While citizens have the right to express concern, he said, it should be done in ways that do not damage Nigeria’s reputation or complicate efforts to resolve the challenges.
