Afrobeats star Davido has announced that he is taking an indefinite break from music, telling fans not to expect new releases anytime soon.
During a recent livestream with Davrel, the singer said he is currently on a sabbatical and does not feel the need to drop new tracks to maintain his relevance. He pointed to the continued popularity of his existing catalogue, noting that a significant number of songs played in clubs today are his.
“Stop asking me when I am dropping new music. I am on a musical break. Like I said if you go to the club right now, 10 out of 20 songs are mine. So I am on a musical break,” Davido said.
