The Nigeria Police Force has rescued a 21-year-old Nigerian woman allegedly trafficked to Mali and forced into prostitution after being sold for CFA 420,000 (approximately ₦770,000).
The victim, identified as Godiya Amos from Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was reportedly lured to Mali in September 2026 with promises of lucrative employment. However, upon arrival, she was allegedly handed over to a prostitution syndicate operating around gold-mining camps.
Police investigations revealed that one of the suspects, identified as 28-year-old Orgba Solomon, allegedly recruited the victim and sold her before confiscating her phone and travel documents.
She was reportedly transported through Lagos and the Republic of Benin using illegal border routes before being subjected to sexual exploitation. The victim was allegedly beaten for refusing to engage in prostitution and forced to take a blood oath.
Her rescue followed an intelligence-led operation by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), conducted between October 1 and 27, after her sister reported the incident.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three suspected members of the trafficking network: Daniel Aondofa, 26; Orgba Solomon, 28; and Thankgod Ocho, 25. All three suspects are reportedly from Benue State.

According to the police, Godiya informed investigators that approximately 42 other Nigerian women remained trapped in a makeshift camp within a remote mining settlement in Mali, where they were allegedly subjected to forced prostitution and slave-like conditions.
Presenting the suspects, Assistant Commissioner of Police Godfrey Victor said the suspects had confessed to their alleged involvement and provided information that assisted in locating the rescued woman.
He added that investigations were ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the trafficking network and facilitate the rescue of additional victims.
