Two of the suspects, Aboy Promise and Favour Uwalaka, were arrested at a hotel in Moshie Zongo.
A search of their rooms reportedly led to the recovery of GH¢1,600, several mobile phones, a Royal motorcycle and a master key allegedly used to gain access to vehicles belonging to bank customers.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted their involvement in the robberies and identified two alleged accomplices, Chinedu, also known as Alhaji, and Kingsley, alias KC.
The suspects subsequently led the police to another hotel in Dechemso, a suburb of Kumasi, where the third suspect, Kingsley, was arrested.
However, Chinedu remains at large, prompting the police to appeal to members of the public to provide useful information that could lead to his arrest.
The police explained that preliminary investigations showed that the gang monitored banking premises, identified customers who withdrew large amounts of money and followed them before attacking and robbing them.
They were also accused of breaking into unattended vehicles belonging to bank customers with the recovered master key to steal money kept inside.
The police further disclosed that the suspects admitted robbing a customer of GH¢15,000 at Asokore Mampong on October 27, after the victim withdrew the money from Kwamang Rural Bank.
They also reportedly confessed to similar incidents at the At onsu branch of Fidelity Bank, the Ahodwo branch of Access Bank and other locations within Kumasi.
The three arrested Nigerians have been handed over to the Ashanti Regional Police Command and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
The police have urged bank customers to remain alert around banking premises and avoid leaving cash or valuables inside unattended vehicles.
