
The Oyo State Police Command has rescued a 17-year-old boy who was abducted by suspected kidnappers in Oyo State.
The victim, identified as Daneri Alhaji Yaro, was reportedly kidnapped in the early hours of August 5, 2026, at Aladere Village along the Ikoyi-Ile axis, close to the Government Reserve Forest.
According to the police, a swift response was launched immediately after the incident was reported. The Divisional Police Officer mobilised a joint rescue team comprising police operatives, members of the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, and hunters to search for the victim.

The coordinated operation led to the successful rescue of the teenager without injury.
Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed that the victim has since been reunited with his family.
The command commended the collaboration among security agencies and local community groups, noting that the successful operation highlights the importance of timely information sharing and joint efforts in tackling kidnapping and other security threats across the state.
