Nigerian police operatives have dismantled a suspected kidnapping syndicate operating along communities bordering the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa State, leading to the arrest of two suspected members and the recovery of weapons and suspected stolen livestock.
The operation, carried out through intelligence-led raids between June 24 and June 26, resulted in the arrest of two suspects identified as Buhari Adamu, 25, and Abubakar Saidu, 28, during separate operations in Gbagalape in the FCT and Mararaba in Nasarawa State.
According to the police, the suspects are believed to have participated in several kidnapping operations, violent attacks, and killings across communities along the FCT–Nasarawa border.

Investigators linked the gang to a deadly attack on Gbagalape community on May 16, 2026, during which several residents were abducted, while others were killed or injured by gunfire. Authorities also alleged that some victims were murdered after ransom demands had been made.
Following the arrests, security operatives raided the gang’s hideout in the Gbagalape Hills, where they recovered one AK-47 rifle, 22 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, 14 cows, and three sheep believed to be proceeds of criminal activities.
Police said the suspects are cooperating with investigators by providing useful information, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest other members of the criminal syndicate who remain at large.
