
The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into a mysterious parcel containing live ammunition that was delivered to the Managing Director of FirstBank, Mr. Oluwasegun Alebiosu.
Authorities disclosed that the incident was reported after the bank executive discovered two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition concealed inside a package addressed to him.
According to police sources, the parcel was initially received by a security guard on behalf of the FirstBank chief before it was handed over to him. Upon examining the package, the suspicious contents were discovered and subsequently reported to law enforcement authorities.

Investigators revealed that the package was delivered to Alebiosu’s residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos by a dispatch rider. The parcel was reportedly marked as confidential and contained only the recipient’s details, with no information identifying the sender.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, confirmed that detectives have commenced a full investigation into the matter. He stated that officers are working to determine the source of the parcel, identify those behind its delivery, and establish the motive for sending the ammunition.
Police said no arrests had been made as of the time of filing this report, but several investigative leads were being pursued. Detectives are also examining information provided by the complainant while conducting forensic and intelligence-driven inquiries.
The command assured residents that updates would be provided as investigations progress.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of corporate executives and other high-profile individuals, with authorities intensifying efforts to uncover those responsible for the delivery of the suspicious package.
