
Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Ogun State Police Command have neutralised two suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of the Prince of Okun Owa, Idris Adesulu, also known as Osho, in Odogbolu Local Government Area.
The incident, which occurred on June 30, 2026, saw armed men ambush the prince at his residence along Ogbe Road around 7:30 p.m. Witnesses reported that the attackers opened fire upon his arrival, forcing their way into the premises and abducting him, while members of his family narrowly escaped.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, immediately ordered the activation of the command’s anti-kidnapping unit alongside other tactical teams to ensure the victim’s safe rescue and apprehend the perpetrators.
The police spokesperson noted that the prince was successfully rescued unharmed on July 3, 2026. Following his release, security operatives intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers.
Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives stormed the Agoro/Imodi axis, where the suspects engaged them in a gun battle.

The police responded decisively, resulting in the death of two kidnappers, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
Items recovered from the suspects include an AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine, two mobile phones, and a bag believed to have been used for ransom collection, among other exhibits linked to the criminal operation.
The bodies of the deceased suspects have been deposited in a government morgue for autopsy, while investigations continue to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang and recover additional evidence.
Commending the officers involved, CP Ojajuni praised their bravery and professionalism, reaffirming the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the state.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information.
