
A police inspector attached to the Sokoto State Police Command, Inspector Adamu Isah, has died after reportedly collapsing shortly after participating in the command’s weekly fitness exercise.
Isah, who served with the Department of Operations, took part in the walkathon held at the command headquarters on Wednesday. He reportedly returned from the exercise before suddenly collapsing.
The police officer was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention. However, medical personnel later confirmed that he had died.
The Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Thursday.
Reacting to the tragedy, the Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, CP Hayatu Shaffa, described Isah’s death as a painful loss to the command and extended his condolences to the deceased officer’s family, colleagues and friends.

According to the commissioner, Isah was a dedicated and disciplined officer who served the country with commitment and professionalism.
He was also actively involved in sports, reportedly playing volleyball for the command and participating in boxing.
Shaffa said the late inspector’s energy, discipline and team spirit would be greatly missed, assuring his family of the police command’s support during the difficult period.
The commissioner urged officers and personnel of the command to remain steadfast while praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
