
Police authorities have declared a man identified as Solomon Friday wanted in connection with the alleged killing of a young man, Chibunna, in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to reports, Chibunna, who was said to be the only son of his parents, was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute involving palm fruit.
The incident reportedly occurred in the community of Umunkiri, while the deceased was said to be from Ekwereazu.
A Facebook user, Ogochukwu Nwaokeoma, who disclosed the incident in a post on Monday, August 17, 2026, said tensions escalated after the killing.

He alleged that some residents from Ekwereazu subsequently went to Umunkiri and set a building in the community on fire.
Nwaokeoma further stated that the police had confirmed that Solomon Friday was wanted in connection with the incident.
He appealed to members of the public with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the police rather than attempting to confront him.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged killing remain under investigation, while authorities are expected to establish what led to the fatal confrontation and the subsequent destruction of property.
The police have urged anyone with useful information that could assist in locating the suspect to come forward.
