Lagos State Police have arrested two men in connection with the abduction and killing of 17-year-old Thompson Adams, who had just taken the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The suspects, Elijah Emmanuel, 23, and Tony Ogenata, 21, are former secondary schoolmates of the victim. They were arrested on April 27 at Lucky Fibre in Ikorodu after a tip-off, police said.
Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani told reporters at the command headquarters in Ikeja on Wednesday that Adams completed his UTME on April 22. He said the suspects allegedly lured the teenager to an apartment, killed him, placed his remains in a bag and disposed of the body in the community.

Tijani said interrogations have linked the pair to another case from November 2025. Police allege the suspects kidnapped the girlfriend of one of the men and killed her after collecting a N300,000 ransom from her family.
The suspects remain in custody while detectives conclude investigations, Tijani said. The command said Emmanuel and Ogenata will be charged in court once investigations are completed.
The case has raised concerns about student safety and violence involving acquaintances.
