
The Osun State Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with the unlawful possession of a human skull allegedly exhumed from a family grave.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, the case was reported on June 17, 2026, after a resident discovered that the grave of his late elder brother, located within their family compound, had been tampered with.
The disturbing discovery revealed that the deceased’s skull had been removed by unknown persons.
Following the report, police operatives launched an immediate investigation. Acting on credible intelligence, officers arrested a suspect identified as Ogunsola Ojo, aged 40.

During interrogation, Ojo reportedly implicated other individuals linked to the crime, including Ayeloja Lateef, Azeez Rasheed, and one Kunle Fatai, who is currently at large.
Further search operations conducted at Fatai’s residence led to the recovery of the suspected human skull, which was concealed in an uncompleted building adjacent to his home. The item has since been documented and registered as evidence.
The police command confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Authorities also stated that the arrested individuals will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
