
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the alleged killing and robbery of a family of six in Oloba village, Lagelu Local Government Area of Ibadan.
The suspects were identified as Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward, all residents of Oloba Village.
Police said the incident occurred on September 22, 2026, when the suspects allegedly attacked the residence of Ifeanyi Chukwu, his wife and their four children.
According to the command, the suspects were armed with a locally made Dane gun, two cutlasses and a club during the attack.
The police alleged that N200,000 cash, a Boxer motorcycle, a Doma machine with chainsaw and a spraying machine were stolen from the residence.
Hammed Akinbami allegedly shot the husband, while Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward were accused of attacking his wife and hitting her on the head.
The police further alleged that two of the children were tied by their hands and legs before being thrown into a nearby river. The other members of the family were also allegedly killed and their bodies dumped in the river.

The investigation reportedly began after detectives received credible information about the incident on October 2.
The three suspects were later arrested and allegedly confessed to their involvement during interrogation.
Police said the family’s Boxer motorcycle was recovered alongside a locally made Dane gun, two cutlasses and the club allegedly used during the attack.
The remains of the wife have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remains of the other victims.
The suspects and case file will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, for further investigation and legal action.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, ordered a thorough investigation and said anyone found responsible would face justice.
