The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, Ugochukwu Precious, over alleged criminal activities, including threats and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Precious, who resides in Umuohia, Ogbor Hill, Aba, was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Aba North, following a complaint over an unpaid iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi.
According to the police, the complaint was received on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, after the suspect allegedly obtained the phone in April through a payment-on-delivery arrangement but failed to pay for it.

Chinaka said the dispute allegedly escalated when Precious began threatening the seller and allegedly engaged thugs to intimidate him.
Following actionable intelligence, police operatives arrested the suspect, who was said to have made confessional statements during questioning.
Further investigation reportedly led to the recovery of a pump-action shotgun from the suspect on Wednesday, September 23.
The police said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the suspect’s alleged gang who remained at large.
Precious is expected to be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain law-abiding and provide the police with timely information that could assist in preventing criminal activities.
