The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 12 suspects, including eight alleged kidnappers and four suspected informants, during security operations in Millennium City and Maraban Rido.
The police also recovered AK-47 rifles and disclosed that the Kaduna State Government had deployed three additional Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to strengthen security operations in the affected communities.
Police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan said the arrests followed intensified clearance operations, targeted raids and patrols conducted in collaboration with other security agencies.
According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that two of the suspects allegedly admitted to leaking information about police operations to criminal groups, undermining efforts to combat kidnapping and protect residents.
