Peter Okoye, one half of the defunct P-Square duo and known as Mr P, has asked fans to stop comparing him to his twin brother Paul Okoye and other musicians.
Speaking in a recent video broadcast, the singer said he wants to focus fully on his solo career without distractions. He stressed that he is unique and wants the freedom to build his own path.
“Stop comparing me with my brother or anyone else. Enough of the comparisons. I want to do me. There is no one like me. I want to do my thing and chop my money,” he said.

Mr P also said the brief reunion with Paul, known as Rudeboy, affected the momentum of his solo career. In an interview with Cool FM Lagos, he explained that before the reunion he was gaining 100,000 Instagram followers daily and ranked among the biggest African celebrities online alongside Davido and Don Jazzy. After the reunion, he said, that growth slowed.
The singer added that he deserves more recognition for staying relevant in the music industry for nearly 30 years. “I have been in the game for nearly 30 years, and I am still trending to date. I deserve more respect,” he stated.
