Pastor Peace Ibiyeomie, wife of Salvation Ministries founder David Ibiyeomie, has cautioned married women against forming close friendships with divorced women, warning that such relationships could negatively influence their marriages.
Speaking during the Mother’s Day service at Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Pastor Peace said divorced women often speak against marriage publicly while maintaining secret relationships with men. She urged married women to be mindful of the company they keep, stressing that friendships should uplift and protect the home.
“Do not follow a divorcee as your friend, even if she is your sister. Teach her, either she reconciles with her husband, or she remarries,” she told the congregation. “She will tell you that men are not important, but meanwhile, she goes behind your back to have affairs with men.”
The cleric recounted instances where some single ladies admitted to holding negative views about marriage while still engaging in relationships. She questioned the contradiction in condemning marriage while pursuing romantic affairs with men.

“If he is not important, why are you sleeping with him? So stay on your own if you say a man is not important,” she said.
Pastor Peace also warned against allowing bitterness from failed marriages to affect others, noting that a broken home should not be used to break another. She encouraged women to surround themselves with positive influences and build legacies that would be remembered.
“Your company will either keep you up or pull you down. Leave a meaningful legacy that you will be remembered for,” she added.
