There was mild panic at the Old Government House, Abakaliki on Monday when a stray dog wandered into the premises and sent workers and visitors scampering for safety.
Eyewitnesses said the fierce-looking animal entered the Government House complex along Ogoja Road during working hours. The sudden appearance triggered confusion as staff members abandoned their desks and ran to avoid the dog.
A source within the Government House said the owner of the dog had not been identified. The source added that the dog appeared disoriented and was moving around the premises in search of an exit.
