
Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper following a tip-off from the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN.
The arrest was confirmed on Thursday in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade. According to him, the suspect, identified as Mohammed Sanni, was apprehended on Wednesday in connection with a recent kidnapping operation in the state.
During the operation, other members of the gang fled into a nearby forest with suspected gunshot injuries. Police said efforts are ongoing to track down the accomplices who remain at large.

Recovered from the scene were a Hajoue motorcycle with registration number TUT 824 TY, believed to have been used for the gang’s logistics, along with a small mobile phone, a pair of slippers, and a cap. All items are currently undergoing forensic examination.
The command said the suspect is in custody and has made confessional statements detailing his role within the criminal syndicate.
