
Residents of Ogbomoso in Oyo State were thrown into concern after armed robbers reportedly invaded a 132KVA power substation in the ancient city and carted away vital equipment.
The incident occurred at the Temidire/Ajeja power station located along Ikirun Road on Monday. Sources disclosed that the attackers, said to be about six in number, stormed the facility heavily armed and equipped with tools used to dismantle electrical components.
Eyewitnesses said the robbers operated for several minutes before escaping from the scene with the stolen items. The exact value of the equipment taken had not been determined as of Tuesday morning.

One of the guards attached to the facility, who spoke anonymously, confirmed the attack and said the suspects arrived prepared for the operation.
Following the development, some chiefs from the palace of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, visited the station to assess the situation.
Officials of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from the Ganmo transmission station in Ilorin also visited the affected facility for an inspection.
Among those present were Assistant General Manager of Transmission, Engr. Adetunji, Engr. Afusat Umar Muazu, and Engr. Adetoyinbo A. Adekunle.
Authorities are yet to announce any arrests in connection with the attack, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
