The Osun State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with an attack on a Methodist Church in the Fiwasaye area of Osogbo.
The suspects were arrested after police operatives from the Iludun Division responded to a distress call about damage allegedly caused at the church premises.
According to the police, the incident began when some youths playing football on an undeveloped piece of land beside the church kicked the ball into the church compound, breaking one of the louvre windows.
The youths allegedly threw stones into the church premises after the initial incident, causing additional damage to some louvre windows and the rear glass screen of a Mitsubishi vehicle belonging to a church member.

The police identified the arrested suspects as Tajudeen Hassan, Adewale Yusuf, Kabiru Abdulsalam, Olanrewaju Abiodun and Adewale Mujidat.
A red Yamaha motorcycle with registration number LRG 143 QE was also recovered from the scene.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, ordered a professional investigation into the incident in line with the law.
The command urged members of the public, particularly youths, to exercise restraint and avoid allowing minor disagreements to escalate into violence or destruction of property.
The police said appropriate legal action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
