An auto mechanic in the Ewuloja-Likosi area of Ogun State, Onasanya Ayobami, has reportedly lost his vehicle after suspected thieves stole it during the night.
The incident was said to have occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, leaving the victim and his family in shock.
Ayobami explained that the grey Toyota Camry had been parked in front of his wife’s shop, within their residential compound, after it was used earlier in the day for family activities, including transporting their children and running errands.
According to him, the environment was calm throughout the evening as the family remained around the shop area before retiring for the night.
However, the following morning, the mechanic discovered that the vehicle was missing when he stepped outside to prepare for work.
“I had my bath and was getting ready to leave when I went outside to wear my shoes and noticed the car was no longer there,” he said.

He immediately reported the matter at the Shimawa Police Station in Ogun State and provided details of the stolen vehicle, including its registration number, KRD-976HX, to assist investigation efforts.
Ayobami said the complaint was officially lodged on May 19, 2026, but he had yet to receive any feedback regarding progress on the case.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, stated that the complainant must have formally reported the matter at a police station, without giving further details on the investigation.
