A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Okebaram Stanley Chimaroke, who was declared missing in Bayelsa State, has been found dead after an intensive search.
Chimaroke, a Civil Engineering graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede and a former Students’ Union Government (SUG) president of the institution, was serving in Nembe Local Government Area at the time of the incident.
According to available information, his body was recovered from the water in the Nembe area after he was reported missing several days earlier.
The incident was initially reported to the police on July 25, 2026, by fellow corps members after repeated attempts to reach him on his mobile phone failed. He was last seen on the evening of July 24 while serving in the Nembe Creek community.

Following the report, security operatives launched a search operation in the creek community, which is accessible only by boat from the Nembe Divisional Headquarters. The operation eventually led to the recovery of his body.
Authorities are yet to officially disclose the cause of death or confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have continued investigations to determine what happened before the corps member’s death.
The tragic development has sparked grief among fellow corps members, former classmates, and friends, who have continued to mourn his passing while calling for a thorough investigation into the case.
