Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly killed 15 terrorists, including two senior commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), during air strikes in Borno State.
The operation targeted a suspected hideout used for storing improvised explosive device (IED) materials in Marte Local Government Area of the state.
The strikes were carried out around 9:20 p.m. on October 28, near Kerenoa, following intelligence reports about terrorist activities in the area.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, military surveillance detected two suspected terrorists riding on a motorcycle to a makeshift structure. Further monitoring reportedly revealed the presence of additional fighters at the location.

The military subsequently launched precision air strikes against the target. An assessment conducted after the operation indicated that 15 terrorists had been killed and several structures destroyed.
The two ISWAP commanders identified among those killed were Abu Musanna and Hassan Abu Huraira, whom the military described as prominent figures within the terrorist group.
Several other fighters were reportedly wounded during the operation. Among them was the ISWAP Wali, or governor, of the area, who was said to have sustained critical injuries.
The military also reported observing a secondary fire after the strikes, suggesting that the destroyed structure may have been used to store materials for making improvised explosive devices.
Operation Hadin Kai said it would continue coordinated operations against terrorist groups in the region as part of efforts to restore peace and security.
