Enzo Maresca
Former Chelsea assistant coach Enzo Maresca is reportedly close to taking over as manager of Manchester City, with growing reports suggesting he has reached a verbal agreement to succeed Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.
According to reports, discussions between both parties have progressed significantly, with a proposed three-year deal believed to be in preparation.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano also claimed that Maresca has emerged as the leading candidate for the role, describing the agreement as verbally completed, although no official confirmation has been made by the club.
Maresca, who has gained recognition for his tactical structure and possession-based philosophy, is seen internally as a coach capable of continuing Manchester City’s established playing style rather than overhauling it.
