
The Kebbi State Police Command has arraigned a 30-year-old man, Ibrahim Karaye, for allegedly killing his biological father, Bahago Karaye, following a dispute on a farm.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 30, around 5:30 p.m., at a farm in Rakka Village, Birnin Yauri, within Yauri Local Government Area.
Usman explained that the suspect and his father were working together when a disagreement broke out, escalating into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, the father reportedly threw a stick at his son. In response, Ibrahim allegedly picked up a pestle and struck him on the head.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was initially taken to the Birnin Yauri Primary Health Care Centre, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
However, he reportedly died at his residence on April 1 due to complications from the injuries.
The police spokesperson stated that the suspect has been formally charged in court and will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
