
Residents of Ekwegbe community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State are in shock after a man allegedly killed his sister and her son on Friday. The incident was shared on Saturday by social media influencer Chijinkem Ugwuanyi in a Facebook post that has since drawn widespread reactions.
According to the post, the suspect, identified as Nwa Jonah, allegedly beheaded both victims in their home. Ugwuanyi stated that the killings occurred within the Ekwegbe community, describing the incident as part of a disturbing pattern of violence in the area.

He also claimed that a similar case was reported in Ukehe community on the same day, where a man allegedly killed his mother while reportedly under the influence of hard drugs.
As of the time of filing this report, the Enugu State Police Command had not released an official statement on either incident. The circumstances surrounding the killings remain unclear, and investigations are yet to be confirmed by authorities.
The alleged attacks have reignited concerns over rising insecurity and substance abuse in parts of Enugu State.
