The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a significant operational victory in its battle against violent extremism, successfully dismantling a high-profile criminal camp in Nguru, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
This high-stakes raid resulted in the recovery of a massive cache of weaponry, including two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), an AK-47 assault rifle, a pump-action shotgun, and an astonishing 3,115 rounds of live ammunition.
Beyond traditional ballistics, security forces also confiscated advanced surveillance drones and denominations of Biafran currency, signaling a sophisticated level of organization within the neutralized cell.
This strategic breakthrough was orchestrated by the Force Headquarters in Abuja and executed with tactical precision by the Imo State Police Command.
According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid Okon, the raid was the direct result of intelligence-driven efforts.

Key information was extracted from a confessional statement provided by Ebube Uchenna Maduakolam, a notorious suspect popularly known as “Ebube Virus.”
Maduakolam, who is allegedly linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was among three individuals apprehended during the operation and is currently assisting investigators with details regarding the group’s logistics and personnel hierarchy.
The Inspector-General of Police praised the operatives for their professional conduct, noting that the seizure of such a substantial arsenal significantly degrades the operational capacity of extremist networks within the South-East region.
By stripping the group of its surveillance capabilities and heavy weaponry, the Force believes it has dealt a decisive blow to the campaign of terror that has plagued the area.
The suspects remain in lawful custody as the police continue to mine critical data to further suppress organized criminal networks and guarantee the safety of citizens across the federation.
