
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has donated bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets to military formations in Lagos as part of efforts to strengthen security operations across the state.
The donation, which included 150 bulletproof vests and 150 ballistic helmets, was presented to the Nigerian Army’s 9 Brigade, the Nigerian Navy’s NNS Beecroft, and the Nigerian Air Force’s 651 Base Services Group during a meeting held at the LSSTF headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.
Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, said the intervention reflected the agency’s commitment to supporting frontline security personnel responsible for maintaining peace and stability in Lagos.
According to him, security remains a collective responsibility that requires continuous collaboration between government institutions, citizens, and security agencies.
Ogunsan commended the armed forces for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting lives and property, assuring the commanders that the Fund would continue to provide support needed to enhance operational effectiveness.

He stated that each of the three military formations received 50 bulletproof vests and 50 ballistic helmets to assist ongoing security operations within the state.
The LSSTF boss also disclosed that the agency’s new office complex, expected to be completed later this year, would further improve coordination and collaboration with security agencies operating in Lagos.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the military formations were Brigadier General Ayokunle Olufemi Owolabi of the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu of NNS Beecroft, and Air Commodore Mohammed Imam of the 651 Base Services Group.
Responding on behalf of the service commanders, Brigadier General Owolabi expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the LSSTF for the continued support given to the armed forces.
He described the donation as timely and significant, noting that the equipment would strengthen ongoing efforts to maintain security and protect residents, businesses, and critical infrastructure across Lagos State.
The military commanders also reaffirmed their commitment to working together to sustain peace and ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
