The Lagos State Police Command has opened an investigation into a suspicious parcel containing live ammunition delivered to FirstBank Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.
Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai told reporters on Tuesday that detectives began probing the case after it was reported on May 7, 2026. Alebiosu discovered two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition hidden in a package sent to his Ikoyi residence through a dispatch rider.
The parcel was first received by his security guard before being handed over to him. It was marked “confidential” and carried only the recipient’s name and address, with no sender details.

No arrests have been made yet. Police said forensic and intelligence-led investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the parcel and identify anyone linked to the delivery.
The command assured residents that updates will be provided as the probe progresses. The incident has raised fresh concerns over the security of corporate executives and other high-profile individuals in the country.
