A 23-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, has been confirmed dead following an incident that occurred within the school’s hostel in Victoria Island.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the student, identified as Faith Alayande, was discovered unresponsive within the hostel premises in the early hours of Friday. The incident was reported by the hostel authorities, prompting immediate police intervention.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that preliminary findings indicate the student had left a note prior to the incident.
Concerned individuals reportedly began searching for her after discovering the message, but she was later found within the hostel premises.

Her body has since been evacuated to a morgue, while authorities have commenced a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
A security source also disclosed that the report was officially lodged at the Victoria Island Police Division around 6:30 a.m., after which officers visited the scene for documentation and further inquiries.
This tragic development has raised fresh concerns about student welfare and mental health within academic institutions, particularly in high-pressure professional programmes.
The Nigerian Law School is yet to release an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
