A farmer identified as Abdullahi Dogo Mai Tulari has reportedly been killed by suspected bandits in Lata Nna community, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday morning as Dogo was making his way to his farm in the community.
According to a source familiar with the incident, the farmer was attacked by suspected bandits while heading to his farmland.
“He was killed this morning on his way to farm in Lata Nna community under Patigi Local Government,” the source said.
The source added that the attackers killed Dogo while he was on his farm.
The latest incident has heightened concerns among residents of rural communities in the area, particularly farmers who are often exposed to security risks while travelling to or working on their farmlands.

Lata Nna and surrounding communities have previously witnessed security challenges linked to suspected criminal groups operating in parts of the state.
The incident also comes amid reports of the continued captivity of a farmer and teacher, Mohammed Abubakar Ndakpada, who was reportedly abducted in the same community on July 30.
Ndakpada’s family had reportedly paid N12 million to secure his release, alongside providing food, drinks and other items demanded by the abductors. However, the kidnappers allegedly demanded an additional N5 million and had yet to release him, according to reports.
The latest killing has renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect farmers and other residents living and working in vulnerable rural communities across Kwara State.
Authorities had yet to publicly provide further details on the latest incident at the time of reporting.
